Renard is responsible for much of the charm and illusory magic that conceals the true identities and nature of Beaufax’s residents, and is able to alter or wipe the memories of guests who were spared the evening’s frightful end, so that they go home to tell their friends and family of the delightful time they had there. Renard himself is also a powerful mage, though rarely has had to use his powers to their full extent, as his pull over the mind can often bring him the result he desires regardless.
